Eight years ago ASA donated and trained four Anti poaching dogs to be deployed at the Save Valley conservancy, Zimbabwe under the care of Bryce Clemence. These dogs and rangers have just been internationally recognised for their work. In September this year ASA had the privilege of assisting KSS Air Ambulance at one of their open days in Kent by giving a K9 Demonstration to the visiting Public. This dedicated team need to raise £56,000 every day to keep the their helicopter operational and saving lives. It was truly humbling to watch as during the event the KSS air ambulance team had to leave to attend a motorcycle accident, truly life saving work!

ASA has just returned from giving continuation training to Cage and Raymond, Tracker Dogs deployed at the Mukutan Conservancy, Kenya. All working dogs need regular continuation training to maintain standards of efficiency and correct handler errors. The training lasted seven days and during that period we trained in busy urban areas and practised various operational scenarios including night work. The time at Mukutan was enjoyed by all with a successful outcome.

In September this year ASA returned from giving instruction to U.S Border patrol in Arizona. The course started with a one day open seminar explaining the training methods and operational techniques employed by ASA. This was then followed by five days on the ground training demonstrating with Border Patrol K9 teams some of the training exercises used by us. The course was well received and after having worked with border Patrol ASA has a huge amount of respect for the K9 team

ASA recently had the privilege of instructing at Independence, Iowa. teaching two 3-Day tactical tracking classes to K9 officers from various Police departments across the state. The courses concentrated on understanding the behavioural signals given from your K9 whilst tracking and teaching the K9 to isolate only human air rafts to optimise its tracking capabilities.
